Deciding to maintain a healthy lifestyle is a struggle specially for us with fast paced lifestyles surrounded with easy and accessible "survival" foods. Last February, I volunteered to join the latest #SanteBringSexyBack program with the main purpose of learning and applying the discipline that will be taught by the professional coaches in our Sante Impact.

I've had my fair share of struggle before from being chubby to payat (thin) to chubby again because of my "yoyo" diet and lack of discipline. I thought na if hindi ako kakain, papayat ako kaagad. True enough I got thinner, but the call of food is tempting and more often than not, I failed so I got back to my old weight, minsan mas mabigat pa.

So I tried another tactic, jogging and muay thai with yoyo food intake diet (minsan kakain, minsan hindi, minsan masosobrahan ng kain). I got thinner but got dry and I looked haggard.

What's missing in this equation?

Thankfully I was lucky enough to be given the medical clearance to join the program and I learned ano ang kulang. Coach Nomar Alferos taught us about correct nutrition as well as the exercises needed for proper weight loss.

It's been more than a month since our program started and some of the best comments I received were "Apple pumayat ka simula nung last na nagkita tayo nung January!" "Maganda yung pagpayat mo ngayon kasi hindi ka nagmukhang matanda."

The best part? I can now wear an old 26" jeans na diko masuot suot years na (naglalaro palagi from 28" - 31" palagi ang waistline ko through the years)!
